Social Responsibility
There is a growing recognition that it is not enough to create an awesome incentive programme without including an element that will give something back to the impoverished communities of South Africa.
We have adapted the following activities which enable the delegates to experience the warmth and vibrancy of township culture while knowing that the money spent goes directly to the community.
Soccer Derby Day
South Africa is a nation passionate about soccer and very proud to be hosting the Soccer World Cup in 2010. Every township child dreams of playing for Bafana Bafana and practice their ball skills at every opportunity. Come and join us for an interactive soccer derby including a tournament against a township junior team, goal shootout and a ball skill exercise with the local hotshot!Beading and Paper Making
Visit a local NGO where previously unemployed ladies will teach you the art of beadwork and making recycled paper.
You will design a card on recycled paper decorated with your own beadwork, porcupine quills, guinea fowl feathers and other African goodies.
Sponsor a Teacher
A local NGO has taken the initiative to implement remedial teaching at an underprivileged primary school. They have installed a shipping container and converted it into a class room where two teachers assist 65 young learners to overcome their reading and writing problems.
Assistance is always needed with paying teachers’ salaries and for stationery, books and teaching aids. There are also an additional 80 children on the waiting list who are desperate for extra lessons.
Sponsor a Child’s Education
Bright young children from the Imizamo Yethu community who have the potential to go far but not the means are identified and given a helping hand. Funds are raised to finance the child’s school fees, uniform, books and even their school field trips, enabling them to fully participate in the school curriculum and get the absolute best opportunities. Sponsors receive regular updates on the child’s progress.
The nature of community projects are such that the needs of NGO’s are many and ever changing. Adventure Works are committed to making a difference in our community and will co-ordinate even the smallest donation, ensuring that both donors and recipients are satisfied. From R1000 to R1million we will identify a project that will suit the clients’ criteria and facilitate the implementation of the program. Contact us with your requirements and we will find a suitable sponsorship opportunity.
