AS the sun slipped into the Atlantic the team from Safmarine donned their creative spirits and enjoyed an Art Jamming  team building session. After some ice breaker activities to set the mood and prime both the left and right brain, the teams set about planning their picture within a picture. The initial hesitation was quickly replaced with full blown creativity as the teams illustrated the main themes of their conference. This powerful team building activity is a fun and effective way to summarise the important elements of your conference and ensure they are transferred to the work place.

“Adapting to Change” was the theme for T- Systems conference at Crystal Towers in Century City. The Brief was to provide team building activities that highlighted the different stages of change and the associated issues that need to be conquered. After some initial energizer activities the competed in a blind paddling exercise which illustrated the breakdown in communication as some teams kept disappearing into the reeds on the banks of the canal! The teams then removed their blindfolds and explored the canals that took them past the bustling Shopping Mall to the tranquil bird sanctuary on Intaka Island.

Here the teams received a briefing on the basics of using an outdoor GPS before navigating their way through the network of paths, bird hides and marshlands in search of Caches of treasure to earn points while also identifying Birds, discovering the function of the Intaka wetlands and imitating the Red Knobbed Coot! Geo Caching is a fantastic team building activity which symbolises finding direction for your business while discovering a beautiful area and competing in fun challenges along the way.

The DAMCO team were lively and energetic as they took on the Waterfront Discovery Challenge.  The blind paddle was challenging yet had everyone in hysterics and really showed the value of teamwork and good communication skills.  They then continued the race to find the check-points, answer the questions and complete the tasks before time ran out.  All teams did a great job and had a fun time.

Steinbuild’s teambuilding event was an Amazing Race around the scenic Waterfront area.  The teams raced from check-point to check-point uncovering clues, solving the cross word and performing a variety of tasks including pumping up an air mattress, paddling a canoe blind folded and posing for team photos.  A great time was had by all.

The team from King James Group got together for a day of Teambuilding, which started off at the Crystal Towers Hotel. After a Outcomes Based Teambuilding Session, it was time to start the fun stuff – The Intaka Island Amazing Race! Team members were limbered (body and mind) up by some zany ice breaker activities such as War Cries and Cosmic Lifts. After the briefing and handing out of racekits, Black Eyed Peace, E-Lemon-Ators and N3 dashed off to start this challenge.

Blind Paddling, Doughnut Eating, Air Bed Inflations are just some of the ingredients which added to a successful Amazing Race!

Vodacom escaped the rain with an indoor teambuilding session to round off their conference.  Teams battled it out in a variety of challenges which tested their co-ordination, communication, time management and team work skills.
