Meet the Team

Barry Futter: Owner, MD A Passion for the Outdoors and testing himself against all the natural elements is what lead Barry into the Adventure Industry at the end of the last century. His primary hobby of riding the biggest waves he can find took him to the Semi Finals of the Red Bull Big Wave Africa in 2008. He has run the 80km Puffer trail run from Cape Point to the Waterfront over the mountains and thrives on finding new mountain biking routes in the Cape Mountains.

Barry studied Psychology, English Literature and Journalism at Rhodes University.

Barbara Futter: Owner, Sales and Marketing

Marketing Director Barbs left New Zealand to spend a year travelling in Europe. After doing the London thing for a few years she hopped on a Truck in Cairo and travelled the whole way through Africa. The beauty of Cape Town and one ruggedly handsome South African man encouraged her to stay. She has been here long enough to understand Afrikaans and (sometimes) support the Sprinboks. Roxanne Adams: Sales
After completing a three year tourism course, Roxanne worked for several years at a leading Destination Management Company where she organised large scale events for incentive clients.  She now puts her organising skills to good use quoting and planning events for Adventure Works.  Her vibrant personality and attention to detail are a great asset to our busy office.

Kathy Bam-Pieterse: Operations

Kathy is our organised ops girl who also manages our website and IT functions.  She has many years in back office logistics with several tourism based companies and keeps our systems  ticking smoothly.
